S&D 50 Commemorations
at Shillingstone
'Shillingstone Steam'
5th & 6th March

Yankie tank ‘30075’ proudly stood waiting at the platform at Shillingstone station, and was lined up with two passenger coaches, faithfully recreating the scene of days gone by. The loco’s owners set it up to give the impression that it was in steam, and came complete with an authentic crew on its footplate. Visitors came to pay homage to a bygone era, and to delight on the ongoing restoration taking place here.

This project is a relative newcomer to the world of heritage railways and is relaying track in the station area and beyond - with the view to running a train service in the coming years. Great strides have been made here in restoring the Station site to how it would had looked in the 1950's.

30075 & 30076 will undergo full restoration by Project 62 members to running order.
